How It all Began

My interest in dog training was ignited at an early age and reinforced when our trusty family pet dog Tramp, a Heinz 57 was tragically run over and killed by a car before my very eyes in our local neighbourhood. I still remember, clear as day, the events leading up to this tragic afternoon. I had been kicking a football with a few friends from my neighbourhood in our front lawn, and Tramp was enjoying the game as much as we were. In the midst of all the fun, we accidently kicked the ball across the road and Tramp chased the ball and was hit by a passing car despite my failed panic-stricken attempts to call him away from the imminent danger. Tramp didn't survive his injuries, but this incident left a legacy, igniting my lifelong ambition to help people understand and communicate with their dogs and to save dogs lives. 

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

This profound experience had a positive influence on my future adult life by teaching me the immense importance of training dogs to view their owners as the pack leader with reliable obedience and distance control. Perhaps I made a mental note to myself to learn from the experience, because from that day forward my interest in gaining an understanding of dogs and how to communicate with them became a personal obsession. Who would have thought that such a pivotal experience would ultimately lead me to becoming a professional dog trainer and behaviourist. Looking back in hindsight, if I had known then what I know today as a Bark Busters behaviourist, then Tramp would have lived to see the following day. I devote the many hundreds of dogs who I have successfully trained to what I have learned through my involvement with Bark Busters, and of course to my beloved childhood mate Tramp.
