What Our Clients Say

"I was so impressed with Phillip's approach, and totally amazed at the positive results after my first session. Barley who originally led me on walks, was walking beautifully to heel after just 2 hours, it was an absolute miracle to see! I really felt as if I had become the leader and top dog in a very short time! Amazing start with Bark Busters. Thankyou! I could not stop hugging Phillip, the miracle man!!"  Mrs C. "The difference Craig made to Tigger (and my husband) was immediate. Everything made sense. We have only had cats before and living with and understanding a dog is so very different. Without Craig's help we may well have given up, but with his help all of us are beginning to understand how to live together. We have recommended the training to loads of people." Mrs V. Archie the Hungarian Viszla Puppy

archieArchie's Story

Archie is a beautifully natured, pedigree Hungarian Viszla with a soft and biddable personality and an eagerness to please. At 5 months of age, his devoted owners chose to enlist the help of Bark Busters behaviourist and trainer Phillip Gazzard to ensure they did everything right for Archie's well-being from puppyhood. Like all puppies, Archie needed an education to teach him good manners including potty training, and all the basics of general obedience such as sit/stay, down stay, walking nicely on a loose lead, recall, attentiveness and distance control. Archie's owner is a professional horse trainer and therefore required that her puppy be well integrated into the daily routine of working at the stables with horses.

Customer Review "Phillip explained everything clearly and it all made perfect sense! Although we were not having serious problems with our puppy, we just wanted to improve his training and such a personal service was perfect for us"

Casper the White German Shepherd

dog-training-london-casper

Casper's Story

Casper is a 6 month old white German Shepherd male who was chewing his owners house to bits. His family had been worried about leaving the house even for small periods of time in fear that he may damage more furniture. This was a classic separation anxiety case which we have resolved by looking at the situation holistically from the dogs perspective. By putting in place measures to optimize the home environment as well as introducing ways to positively stimulate Casper's mind, we have enhanced his sense of safety resulting in a happy contented dog with no more destructive behaviour.

Kody the Labradoodle Puppy

kodyKody's Story

Kody is a gorgeous young male Labradoodle puppy, inspired by all of the excitement of living with his young family. Kody's owners called in Phillip Gazzard from Bark Busters on the recommendation of their vet, to ensure that Kody had the right start, and learned to be house-trained as rapidly as possible. His owners also wanted to ensure Kody learned good obedience and social manners, and would come back reliably when called. Kody is a work in progress with the family nanny taking an active role in his training.

Ollie the Rescue Terrier

ollieOllie's Story

Ollie is a neutered male Battersea Rescue Dog who was re-homed at the age of 7 months to his current loving owners after being surrendered due to aggression problems having bit his previous owner and strangers. When I first went to see Ollie, he was a very stressed out little dog with lot's of complex phobia's based on the experiences of his previous pack. He was also a compulsive barker, jumped up on strangers, and pulled heavily on the lead when walking. Ollie has responded beautifully to the wonderful leadership that has been put in place by his owners under my advice. He was previously misinterpreting his role, assuming the role of pack leader. He is now a well adjusted canine citizen, who is eager to please.  Ollie is a very happy dog these days, without all the stress of his previously assumed responsibility. He spends his days playing fetch with his owners and enjoying long walks in the park.

Customer Review "It took us 6 long years to get over our other dog before we were in a situation where we wanted to give another dog a home. We adopted Ollie back in Nov 2008 from Lewes where he had been sent from Battersea for aggressive issues with people. We had seen him on the web site about a month before and could not believe he was still there. It soon became obvious after we got him home, that he had certain aggressive issues and we were advised by our vet (whom he bit) to get in contact with Phillip at Bark Busters. We took our vet's advice which has been the best money we have ever spent. Ollie was wild and was totally "The Boss" but once we had met Phillip all that changed. We are learning all the time and with the techniques Phillip has given us we can keep him under control now. He is more submissive and his behaviour is a million times better than those early days. Walking is still an issue with other dogs he becomes aggressive but with Phillip's help (and believe me its wonderful) we have now got the tools to help Ollie grow into a wonderful dog. We look forward to Phillip's visits and help over little issues and bigger ones. Keith and I can not thank Phillip and Craig enough for all the help and encouragement you have given us over the last year and we look forward to our continued relationship."

Bambi the Ex-racing Greyhound

Dog-Training-London-Bambi
Bambi's Story

Bambi is a gentle natured, ex-racing Greyhound bitch who was rescued through Battersea Dog's Home at the age of 18 months. Desperately in need of some love and nourishment, her devoted new owners set about their mission to integrate Bambi with her new family including 3 children. Bambi was received with open arms and immediately bonded with her new pack, demonstrating lots of positive attributes including a wonderful gentleness with the children and a willingness to please. But Bambi also had a dark side; she was an accomplished food thief, and loved to chase things that move, with a particular penchant for biting joggers bottoms at the park which her owners were finding very embarrassing. She also had a habit of peeing and defecating in the house, on furniture and even on her own bed which was very distressing for her owners.  If that wasn't enough of a challenge, whenever Bambi was left alone she would chew door frames and destroy things such as tearing up loo rolls, all classic indications of separation anxiety. By recommendation from several dog owners at the local park, Bambi's owners got in contact with dog trainer and behaviourist Phillip Gazzard. I visited the family home where we looked at the entire situation holistically, and put in place a behaviour modification program to resolve all the issues. Several training sessions later and Bambi was a reformed dog with excellent manners in the park, house trained and no longer destroying things. Well done to Bambi and her family.
